On Saturday 12th October 15 keen ramblers met at Startops Reservoir car park in Marsworth near Tring. Unperturbed by the rainy conditions the waterproof clad group, led by Karen, began the 6.5 mile walk along the pretty Grand Union Canal with great views across the reservoir to the right. It then cut across country passing Pitstone Windmill, with the backdrop of Ivinghoe Beacon, and on to the village of Ivinghoe before rejoining the canal to the Red Lion pub for a much deserved, delicious lunch. The planned 3 mile walk after lunch was cancelled mainly due to the weather and the need to dry out. Karen was pleased to introduce this area to the group as most had never walked there before. A good time was had by all, despite the damp conditions! Well done, everyone.
